As a part of the Healthyr School initiative- a pamphlet was sent home so that parents are encouraged to help the school with the promotion of these issues. Children were given the opportunity to use the UV germ machine- disgusting!!

Promoting Healthy School: Hygiene

As part of Gwynedd Healthy Schools Stage 5 this year, the school wishes to remind pupils of the importance of hand washing and brushing teeth as well as good practices of healthy eating, drinking water and getting enough sleep.

PC Dylan visited Years 1,3 and 5 this term to discuss anti-social behaviour as well as internet safety.

Stage 4 Success!

The school has recently been accredited with Stage 4 of the healthy schools scheme which were based on Food and Fitness, and Emotional health this year.

The Healthy Smile programme
The Healthy Smile programme is going from strength to strength- the Junior department children will now also be brushing their teeth at school. The children are now all aware of the need to brush their teeth regularly.

5 a day!

It is National School Meals week between November 7-11 and the Gwynedd Schools Catering Service is attempting to raise the awareness of the nutritional content of school meals and the importance of a healthy diet.

The children will be reminded of the importance of this during the day and may purchase fruit from the fruit shop for 30p (Junior Department), or bring their own fruit to school (infants/juniors). Fruit will also be served as a part of the school menu on this day.

Year 6 sell healthy fruit during the morning break.
Fruit can be purchased from the shop for 30p a day or £1.50 for the week.
